I can't see the custom water
Issue: Water appears invisible or broken.
Solution: This issue commonly affects AMD GPU users.
To fix the realistic water rendering, you need to use **DXVK**, a Vulkan-based translation layer for Direct3D 9.
How to fix it
- Download the latest release of DXVK from the official GitHub repository:
- Extract the file named d3d9.dll from the archive.
- Place d3d9.dll into the following folder:
Galaxy Gears\bin\x64
DXVK translates DirectX9 calls to Vulkan and may also improve performance in some systems.
My screen is black / everything is invisible
Issue: Game loads, but all visuals are black or missing.
Solution: This is likely due to NVIDIA's driver overriding Anti-Aliasing settings. Make sure to disable forced Anti-Aliasing in your NVIDIA Control Panel for Galaxy Gears.
Game won't start: AVX2 Required
Issue: The game crashes on launch or fails to start.
Solution: The game requires a CPU with AVX2 instruction set support.
How to check AVX2 support
- Download and run CPU-Z or a similar system info tool.
- Go to the Instructions section in the CPU tab.
- Look for AVX2 in the list. If it's not present, your CPU is not supported.
Minimum System Requirements
Component | Minimum Requirement |
---|---|
CPU | Intel i3 or AMD equivalent (with AVX2 support) |
GPU | DirectX 9.0 compatible graphics card |
RAM | 6 GB |
Storage | 6 GB available space |
OS | Windows 7 (64-bit) |
Can I run this on Linux?
No. Native Linux support is currently unavailable. While some users have experimented with Wine or Proton, there is no official support for Linux systems.
